The midwives at Full Circle Midwifery are primary care providers for healthy pregnant women who choose to birth in their own home settings. A collaborative care plan physician is available for consult when indicated. Full Circle Midwifery provides comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.

Prenatal Care
Progressing Through Pregnancy
As caregivers we will provide professional prenatal care throughout your entire pregnancy. Prenatal visits will always be a time for discussing matters of importance, concern, or interest to you. We’ll start our services by recording your family and medical history, and move on to help you evaluate nutritional needs and discuss any needed dietary changes. Once a solid foundation is formed, we will routinely perform physical assessments, monitor healthy weight increases, assess blood pressure, perform dip-stick urinalysis, and completle routine blood work as needed.
We’ll be checking baby as we go as well by accessing fetal growth and activity, and determine fetal positioning by palpation, and listen to fetal heart tones too!
Prenatal visits occur once each month up to 32 weeks, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly until delivery.
Intrapartum Care
The Big Day(s)
Once a mother goes into labor we will be with you every step of the way. Our duty is to offer labor guidance and comfort techniques. We’ll be monitoring baby's well being with intermittent fetal heart tone readings, all the while monitor mother's well being as well. We will assess the progress of labor (vaginal exams are used only when necessary) to assure everything is coming along smoothly, and when the time comes we will either "Catch" the baby and/or assist mother or partner to "catch" the baby. Our team will chart the progress of labor and birth (copies may be made available for record) throughout the entire process.
Postnatal care
After Baby's Arrival
From the moment of birth to the following month we will provide postnatal care for both mother and baby. During immediate postpartum period both mother and child will be monitored. When the family is ready, we then perfom comprehensive newborn exam and screening, which includes administration of vitamin K and antibiotic eye ointment if desired by parents, and assist with breastfeeding. We will also clean birth linens and prepare postpartum bed as we provide a 24 hour in-home assessment of mother and baby (more if needed). We then turn over care to the family and will instruct the partner or family member on the monitoring of vitals for mother and baby. We also perform metabolic newborn screening test (heel stick) at the time of the home birth.
Following birth, home visits as needed via 24/7 on call availability, with routine 2 week, 4 week, and 6 week postpartum office visit after. At this time we will gather all the information necessary and file the birth certificate.
